And full credit should also go to Mr. Yusuf and Mr. Johan of islamichina.com for executing the plan effectively- like clockwork. • Performing Salat at Xian Great  Mosque
Built in 742AD, the Great Mosque of Xian is the second oldest mosque in China, next to Huaisheng Mosque in Guangzhou. The architecture of this mosque is a fascinating fusion of Chinese and Arabian styles. It is laid out like a traditional Chinese temple, with successive courtyards of pavilions and pagodas occupying a long and narrow site (48 meters by 248 meters). But the buildings' Islamic function becomes clear on closer inspection, with the usual figurative decoration mostly replaced by Arabic and Chinese calligraphy. The complex is aligned on an east-west axis, facing Mecca. Beautifully decorated with bas-relief woodwork and Quranic inscriptions, the prayer hall, which is the focus of this and all mosque complexes, occupies 1,270 square meters which can hold up to over 1000 prayers.

    Performing Salat at Daxuexixiang  Mosque
Daxuexixiang Mosque was constructed in the year of 705 during the Tang Dynasty. This mosque had been continuously renovated between the Yuan and Ming Dynasty. It is located on the west of Daxuexi Lane, facing the Great Mosque. Xi'an Daxuexixiang Mosque is also called West Great Mosque. In a rather large scale covering an area of 6,000 square meters with a construction area of 2,700 square meters, Xi'an Daxuexixiang Mosque is the second largest mosque in Xi'an after the Xi'an Great Mosque.
