Luoyang High Speed Railway
Zhengzhou and Luoyang, the two largest cities in Henan Province, are highly intertwined with each other with large numbers of economic dealings. However, the section between of the Longhai railway between Zhengzhou and Luoyang (from Lianyungang in Jiangsu Province to Lanzhou in Gansu Province) is one of the busiest sections of this railway line. More than 60 passenger trains travel between the two large cities every day, with five intercity trains from Luoyang to Zhengzhou. With passenger capacity as great as 6,000, the trains still fall short of demand. Restricted by topography, it takes six hours to travel between the two cities.
The construction of the high-speed rail between Zhengzhou and Xi'an solved the complicated problem. The six-hour trip between Luoyang and Xi'an has been condensed to 1.5 hours. First-class and business passengers tend to use the high-speed railway the most.
After the Luoyang Longmen Railway Station was opened to the public, more than 4,000 people have visited it daily. The station has become a bright star along the Zhengzhou-Xi'an high-speed railway line as well as a beautiful spot in Luoyang city.
