First built during Wanli, Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644), Luoyang Guanlin Temple is a place where the chopped-off head of the Guan Yu, a famous general of the Shu Kingdom from the Three Kingdoms Period was buried in Luoyang, Henan province. The total area of Luoyang Guanlin Temple is around 6.7 hectares.

Reconstructed in Qianlong, Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911), Guanlin Temple is one of the well preserved ancient architectures. Guanlin Temple is built in the style of palaces with the well-knitted and splendid layout. In front of the Guanlin Temple is a stage. Buildings along the axis are Big Gate, Yi Gate, Yong Path, the First Palace, the Second Palace and the Third Palace. Among so many Guanlin’s buildings, Guanlin Temple is the only one named Lin for its gorgeous building features.

Surrounded by luxuriant ancient trees and splendid tombs, Luoyang Guanlin Temple is an ancient classical architectural complex and a famous 4A tourist resort.
