Changchun History
Changchun had several names in history. It was first established by XiaoshenKingdom and called Xidu at that time. Later, the name was changed into HelongCity by Huimo people-the ancestor of Nuzhen people. Then the city was called Shushan, Dezhou and YeludeguangCity successively. In 1234, Nuzhen people grew up in this region and called the city DezhouCity or Bailongfu. In Qing dynasty, Emperor Qianlong praised this region for its everlasting spring, thus it got the current name-Changchun. In modern history, Changchun had suffered a lot in various wars. In 1948, Changchun was liberated peacefully.
